18-Cue Series QuickPlug Slat for Cobra Firing Systems

Wiring hundreds of traditional flying leads in the scorching summer heat eats up hours of your setup time and drains your crew's energy. The muuxBRD QuickConnect-18S eliminates tedious wire stripping, splitting, and landing cues, letting you land ignitors up to 80% faster so you can focus on a successful show.

Engineered for both backyard pyrotechnicians wanting more time with family and professional display crews looking to maximize labor efficiency, this 18-cue series slat brings unmatched speed, rugged durability, and long-term ROI to your Cobra setup.

Why Choose the QuickConnect-18S?

  • 80% Faster Field Setup: Wire ignitors 5x faster than traditional flying-lead spring terminals, saving hours on site and allowing smaller crews to execute larger displays.
  • Field-Proven Reliability: Features positive-retention QuickPlug slots and a rigid dual-board construction that protects critical pins and electrical connections from high-impact field abuse.
  • Mistake-Proof Continuity: Eliminates common continuity issues caused by poor wire stripping or improper spring-terminal placement—ideal for rapid training of new crew members.
  • Superior ROI & Capital Efficiency: Drastically lowers your upfront slat investment compared to heavy spring-terminal alternatives, freeing up capital while reducing overall labor overhead.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Dual DB25 Ports & Shunt: Direct DB25 input port with a series pass-through output to connect additional slats effortlessly, including an included DB25 shunt for complete loop termination.
  • 18-Cue Positive-Retention QuickPlug Array: Securely locks QuickPlug or QuickConnect ignitor leads into place, preventing accidental connection problems during setup.
  • Compact & Portable 2-Board Layout: Heavy-duty dual-layer fiberglass architecture adds structural stiffness without bulk, shielding connectors from direct impact.
  • Flame-Resistant FR-4 Substrate: Built with resin-impregnated, flame-retardant materials and corrosion-resistant tin/gold-plated contact pads designed to handle harsh outdoor environments.

FAQ

What is the difference between QuickConnect and QuickPlugs?

QuickConnect is the generic name used in the pyrotechnics industry. QuickPlugs is a trademarked name used by Cobra Firing Systems.

QuickConnect and QuickPlug electric matches are the same connector, and can be used interchangeably. While different OEMs may use different receptacles for their slats or modules, the concept is the same.

Why choose muuxBRD for your QuickPlug or QuickConnect solution?

Choose muuxBRD because of the total package, not just the connector, price or size. muuxBRD designs are field tested, by pyros for pyros.

By the time you get your hands on a muuxBRD slat or breakout board it’s been tested, tweaked, revised, and perfected.

In the end, muuxBRD brings a balance of performance, quality and value.

How much time can I save with muuxBRD QuickConnect slats?

QuickConnect slats and ematches will let you land much ematches and load more product in less time.

Watch this video to see a comparison of traditional ematches and QuickConnect ematches.

But aren’t the ematches more expensive?

While QuickConnect ematches do cost more, the price is coming down as they become mainstream.

But, even though they cost more they provide a positive return on the nominal cost increase.

If you can land ematches 4-5 times faster you save labor. If you are a display company, you can shoot more shows with fewer people.

Lastly, QuickConnect slats cost less upfront than traditional flying lead slats. When you spend more upfront there’s an opportunity cost and a time/labor penalty on every show with traditional ematches.

How do I wire QuickPlug ematches in parallel or series?

Three options, manually, slats or breakout boards.

Manually cut, strip, twist, and tape wires like you did with traditional ematches.

Use series or parallel slats to string together multiple slats and connect more ematches

Lastly, QuickSplit breakout boards keep the Quick in QuickPlugs. Allow you to connect QuickPlug ematches in series/parallel in seconds!
